Mr. John J. Rigby concentrates his practice in the area of employment law and regulatory law. He is considered a prominent employment lawyer.
Mr. Rigby has represented many federal employees, both before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He has won precedent setting cases establishing important federal employee rights.
Mr. Rigby regularly represents employees in overtime cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and has also represented many employers. He has developed particular expertise concerning the FLSA.
Mr. Rigby has handled a variety of other employment law matters, including non-compete cases and employee severance agreements. He has also developed expertise concerning recovery of attorney’s fees under fee shifting statutes. Mr. Rigby has taught many continuing legal education courses on employment law matters.
